Milt Nesdahl   Bruce Bailey  Dan Cook

Mike Cook      Rod Tauer    Mel Eliason

RodBanjo, Lead and Backup Vocals. Started playing banjo in 1985 and has continuously strived to improve since. He has even added a couple more banjos to his collection just so he could say he plays ‘different’ instruments. Rod has also added the harmonica and acoustic guitar to his list of accomplishments. Rod assumes the position of lead vocalist in many of the groups’ numbers.

MiltMandolin, Lead and Backup Vocals. As a youngster in North Dakota, he started his career on the guitar and singing where he concentrated his efforts on the tunes by the Kingston Trio. Eventually, he moved on to the banjo, playing Beatles songs as well as polkas. Today he plays the mandolin and sings the ‘high’ parts that are a crucial part of the harmony sound.

Mel Fiddle, Mandolin, Acoustic Guitar. He started playing music instruments back in the 7th grade with trumpet, guitar and accordion being the foremost. Mel went on to play bass guitar in many local rock and old time bands. In later years, he started to play the fiddle and mandolin.

DanDoboro, Acoustic Guitar, Backup Vocals. He played his first ‘paying’ gig in high school. In his thirties, he spent time trying to ‘make a living’ in the club scene. Dan’s main instrument is the Pedal Steel Guitar. He played all around the upper-midwest in various groups including even some road bands. A number of years ago, Dan cut back and played with a couple of weekend bands including a stint in a group with his brother Mike. He is now comfortable just having fun with bluegrass music.

MikeAcoustic Guitar, Fiddle, Mandolin, Lead and Backup Vocals. Like his brother, Mike learned to play at an early age. His extremely talented extended family was a heavy influence on his style. He has been mostly a recreational player except for the stint with his brother in a somewhat popular pop-country group during the early 90’s. His bluegrass influence has been groups like the Nitty-Gritty Dirt band, Alison Kraus and the Lonesome River Band. If the band has one of his numbers in their set, you can watch Mike ‘dance around’ with the fiddle.

BruceStand-up Bass, Lead and Backup Vocals. Bruce is the true professional of this group. Up until about eight years ago, he made his full-time living in music. From teaching Bass at a local music store to playing full-time gigs with several different well known groups over the years, he has become a musicians’ musician. Bruce handles most of the musical and vocal arrangements for White Knuckles and keeps the books, so to speak, of musical numbers in the groups’ repertoire. An excellent baritone voice lends itself to many of the lead vocals for the group.
